The architect designed (Eric Zehrung of Green Point Design, Ballarat), rammed-earth home was built on a 60 acre bush block in 2007 to follow as many sustainable practices as possible.
The house is solar passive with a grid-connect solar system. The waste water is all reused on the gardens.
All the windows are double glazed, and have insulating Luxaflex blinds. The heating is hydronic, with radiator panels in most rooms, and the central living area has a wood burner (with a built in oven). All the appliances are Miele (oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge).
The double garage has extensive storage, and is connected to the house, and is used as a workshop.
